This is a list of Xiaomi Phones Giving MIUI 12.5 and the Schedule of Its Arrival
After being introduced in China in December 2020, MIUI 12.5 was finally released globally . MIUI 12.5 is the successor of MIUI 12 with a number of updates.
MIUI 12.5 comes with new features that focus on design, and is claimed to provide better performance than its predecessor.
In the MIUI 12.5 update, there are several built-in applications ( bloatware ) that are notified, including Mi Calculator, Notes App, Weather, Compass, Scanner, and Mi Recorder.
Meanwhile, there are three other default applications that can now be hidden, such as Mi Music, Themes, Mi Video, Downloads, and Mi File Manager.
Regarding security, MIUI 12.5 brings new mechanisms to increase user privacy, such as more control over app access to protect their privacy.
There is also a "Super Wallpaper" feature that users can use to decorate the mobile phone background with mountain-themed images, such as Siguniang Mountain, Shipwreck Bay, and Blade's Edge Mountain.
In terms of performance, MIUI 12.5 is claimed to have 15 percent lower power consumption, and memory usage which is claimed to be up to 20 percent more efficient.
MIUI 12.5 will be rolled out in two stages. The first phase will begin in the second quarter (Q2) of 2021 or around the beginning of April.
In this first stage MIUI 12.5 will be present on a number of Xiaomi phones that are relatively new, such as the Mi 11, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10 T, and Mi 10T Pro.
However, slightly older phones such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi 9, and Redmi Note 9 will also receive the MIUI 12.5 update at a later stage.
Users can immediately check the "Software Settings" menu to check for updates by clicking the "Upgrade Now" button.
In the first and second stages, 16 devices received the MIUI 12.5 update. In December, Xiaomi announced that there were more than 20 devices that received this latest MIUI.
